17TH ANNUAL GARDEN STATE CRAFT BREWERS GUILD BEER FESTIVAL ON THE BATTLESHIP  

DATE:           Saturday, June 22    12:30 pm – 5:00 pm

DETAILS:     The 17th Annual Garden State Craft Brewers Guild Beer Festival returns to the fantail (tented rear deck) of the Battleship New Jersey this SaturdayJune 22.  From 1:00pm to 5:00pm, guests can  tour one of our nation’s most decorated and largest battleship, take home a souvenir sampling mug, groove to live music from the Cabin Dogs, meet players from the Philadelphia Passion Lingerie Football League, enjoy delicious food from Andreotti’s Catering, and, of course, sample craft beers from 19 breweries from New Jersey!

    This year, a special VIP ticket of $55 was added.  Seventy-five adults will get early admission at 12:30pm – a half-hour before the general public, get to sample some special craft beers and talk to the brewers.  A few VIP Tickets are still available. 

Regular beer festival tickets, allowing access from 1:00pm to 5:00pm,are available for $45.  To purchase tickets, call 866-877-6262 ext. 107, visit www.battleshipnewjersey.org, or go to the Battleship’s Ticket Office, open every day, including Saturday, from 9:30am to 5pm.                                          

Located on the Delaware River, along the Camden Waterfront across from the City of Philadelphia, the Battleship is open tours every day from 9:30am to 5pm. Have a Blast on Saturday, July 6! The annual Battleship Blast fireworks show will feature a family BBQ on the fantail, live music from “It Is What It Is,” animals from Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels, face painting and, of course, the most unique view of the fireworks over the Delaware River at Dusk.  Plus you will be supporting our nation’s most decorated battleship - now a non-profit museum and memorial on the Camden Waterfront.  VIP Blast tickets are $62 and includes a BBQ meal, open beer/wine/soda bar, and access to the ship and her activities.  A Boarding Ticket is just $10 with the BBQ, bar, etc. at an additional price.  To reserve your ticket, call 866-877-6262 ext. 108. A visit to the park is always a good bet. But Camden County is making the traditional outing even more appealing with a number of concerts, movie nights and other events.

The highlights this summer will be the Celebrate America Concert and Fireworks on July 6 and the Xponential Music Festival from July 26 to 28 featuring Bob Dylan and Wilco. Both events will take place at Wiggins Waterfront Park in Camden.

Mark your calendar for these other park events:

• The Twilight Concert Series at Cooper River Park that features acts such as Beatlemania Now on June 27 and Sara Spicer Country Band on July 19.

• The Sundown Music Series at Haddon Lake Park, with Peter Yarrow performing June 19 and Loudon Wainwright III on Aug. 7.

• Lindenwold Park’s Friday Family Fun Nights with various activities followed by movies under the stars.

• Nature Talks and Walks series led by Mike Hogan of South Jersey Land and Water Trust held at the Camden County Environmental center at 1301 Park Blvd. in Cherry Hill

• Cirque du Soleil’s “Totem,” which continues along the Camden Waterfront through June 30.

• Food Truck Fridays at the Adventure Aquarium all summer long.

• Walks and runs including the Suicide Prevention Walk on Aug. 4 and the Make-A-Wish’s Annual Walk for Wishes on Sept. 29.

• Pointe Black and Bettye Lavette at the 22nd Annual Sunset Jazz Series June 24-Aug.19 at Wiggins Waterfront Park.
