Camden Riversharks, Operation Homefront to host vets and active military

rivCAMDEN — When the Camden Riversharks face the Sugar Land, Texas Skeeters on June 14, they’ll also be honoring members of the military, past and present.

For Military Appreciation Night, being presented at Campbell’s Field by Operation Homefront Tri-State, all active duty military personnel and veterans will receive free admission to the game. Their family and friends can purchase specially discounted tickets at $7. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

There will be a pre-game recognition for the GIs and veterans. During the game, fans will be able to bid in a special auction for a patriotic jersey worn in a game by their favorite player or coach. After the game, winning bidders will be invited down onto the field, where players will take off their jerseys, sign them and present them to the winners.

Proceeds from the auction will go to Operation Homefront, Tri-State. During the rest of the season, the organization will continue to provide free admission to Riversharks home games, excluding the 2012 Atlantic League All-Star Game.
