CEREMONY AND FREE TOURS FOR VETS AS THE BATTLESHIP CELEBRATES VETERANS DAY

Monday, November 11

The Battleship New Jersey will hold a wreath ceremony on the forecastle at 11 am on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, 2013.  The ceremony, free to any guest, will feature keynote speaker Col. Edwin W. Simpson, USA (Retired), former Deputy Chief of Staff to Gen. Fred Franks during Desert Storm. The ceremony will also feature the Presentation of Colors, and a memorial wreath casted into the Delaware River.

Veterans can enjoy a free self-guided tour of the Battleship, which will be open for walk-up tours from 9:30am with the last tour of the Day departing at 3pm, throughout the day on Nov. 11

 

                        Located on the Delaware River, along the Camden Waterfront across from

                        the City of Philadelphia, the Battleship is open for walk-up tours every

                         Saturday and Sunday in November and December, as well as some select

                       weekdays, from 9:30am to 3pm.  Come greet active military and homeless

                         veterans as the Battleship will offer over 250 of these heroeson
