EVENT: MISS NEW JERSEY AND MISS PENNSYLVANIA TO MEET HOMELESS VETERANS AND MILITARY PERSONNEL ON THE BATTLESHIP

DETAILS: The Battleship New Jersey, in partnership with Camden County Veterans Affairs and the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, will offer homeless veterans and active military personnel from Joint Base – McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and Dover Air Force Base a full-course turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. The meal will be served by volunteers in the Battleship’s crew’s mess (onboard cafeteria).
Miss New Jersey 2013 Cara McCollum and Miss Pennsylvania 2013 Annie Rosellini will meet the troops and veterans as they enjoy their hot turkey dinner in the crew’s mess on Thanksgiving. Cara McCollum from Princeton, NJ, is a student at Princeton University. Annie Rosellini of Butler, PA, is a student at Point Park University.
Residents can join us on the pier at 10:30 am to welcome our heroes to the Battleship. Free parking is available in lot #2, diagonal from the Susquehanna Bank Center, courtesy of the Camden Parking Authority.

Berthed on the Camden Waterfront across the Delaware River from Center City Philadelphia, the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial is a non-profit historic ship museum that offers tours Saturdays and Sundays, as well as a few special weekdays, through December.
