Rutgers University in Camden to offer free afternoon concert series
CAMDEN – Canon balls splashing and fireworks blasting aren’t the only sounds of summer. A free concert series at Rutgers–Camden offers a soothing escape on Tuesdays, June 19 through July 17.
The live performances will begin at noon and will feature pianist Graeme Burgan with soprano Serena Benedetti on June 19; John Giannotti, a Rutgers–Camden professor emeritus, with his musical group Quartet 33 on June 26; the Uptown Jazztet on July 3; the Trautenberg Memorial Concert with pianist Andrew Willis on July 10; and pianist Bice Horszowski on July 17.
The series will take place in the Mallery Room, located on the second floor of the Fine Arts Complex. The building is on Third Street, between Cooper Street and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.
The concerts are presented by the Rutgers–Camden Department of Fine Arts and directed by Joe Schiavo, a clinical assistant professor of music and fine arts chairperson. For more information, call 856-225-6176.
